From Lucas Aerospace to the bottom of your garden
Dave Follett began a five-year engineering apprenticeship at Lucas Aerospace at sixteen and stayed on for another four years. In 1985 he started an electrical business in Hemel Hempstead doing domestic work, then moved into commercial contracting — shopfitting, offices, schools and main-dealer garages.
The decision that shaped the company came next: stop doing everything, and specialise. Gardens were the choice, and the reasoning was simple — most garden lighting is unreliable because it is installed by people who do not do it often enough to be good at it. We believe we are now the best garden lighting installers in the country, and that is only possible because it is the only thing we do.
